Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to the Riptap app and this website. In these terms, "Riptap", "we" and "us" mean the developer of the Riptap game. By downloading or using Riptap, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Apple's standard terms
Riptap is distributed through Apple's App Store, and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA) is the licence for the app. These terms add rules specific to Riptap and apply alongside the Standard EULA where they are compatible with it. Your use of the App Store, Game Center and other Apple services is also subject to Apple's own terms.
Using Riptap
Riptap is provided for your personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control. You agree not to copy, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, resell or misuse the app, except where the law allows it.
Fair play and leaderboards
Riptap's Game Center leaderboards are meant to be fair for everyone. You agree not to use cheats, bots, exploits, modified versions of the app, changes to your device's date or time, or any other method to gain scores, streaks, rewards or progress you didn't earn in normal play. We may remove scores from the leaderboards that look suspicious or were achieved this way.
Riptap Premium and purchases
Riptap Premium is an optional one-time purchase made through Apple. It currently includes no ads, one starting heart in Classic and Expert, the Golden Tide and Aurora themes, and keeping seasonal themes after their season. If you reinstall the app or use a new device, you can restore Premium under Settings › Restore Purchases with the same Apple Account.
Purchases, payments and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. To ask for a refund, contact Apple; if Apple refunds a purchase, Premium is removed. Riptap is a game that changes over time: we may change, add or remove features, modes, themes and Premium benefits in future updates. Such changes don't affect any rights you have under the law.
Optional rewarded ads
In Classic and Expert, Riptap may offer an optional rewarded video ad that lets you continue a run. Watching ads is always your choice, and ads depend on your consent and tracking choices and on availability. Ads are provided by Google, and what Google does with data is described in our Privacy Policy and Google's policies. We aren't responsible for the content of third-party ads.
Virtual items and progress
Hearts, power-ups, streak freezes, badges, achievements, themes, ranks, scores and other in-game items and progress are part of the game. They have no monetary value, can't be exchanged for money, sold or transferred, and give you a limited personal right to use them in Riptap, not ownership.
Your progress is stored on your device only. Riptap has no account to restore it from, so it can be lost if you delete the app, reset or lose your device, or restore a backup that doesn't include it. Premium can be restored through Apple; other progress can't.
Seasonal and time-limited content
Daily Challenges, Weekly Events, seasonal events and other time-limited content follow your device's local date and time. Their timing, content, targets and rewards may change, and time-limited content may not return.
Sharing and Game Center
You can share score cards and challenges through your device's share sheet. You are responsible for what you share and with whom. If you use Game Center, your Game Center name and scores are visible to other players under Apple's terms.
Notifications
The Daily Reminder is optional and off unless you turn it on. You can turn it off at any time in Riptap's Settings or in iOS Settings.
Third-party services
Some features use services from Apple and Google, such as the App Store, Game Center, Google AdMob and, if you turn them on, Firebase usage analytics and crash reports. Those services are subject to their providers' terms and policies, and we aren't responsible for them.
Intellectual property
Riptap, including its name, design, branding, graphics, sounds, gameplay and related content, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. These terms don't give you any rights to it beyond using the app as described here.
Disclaimer
We work hard to make Riptap fun and reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise that the app will always be available, free of errors, or that your progress will never be lost, and we may stop offering the app or some features at any time. Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory consumer rights where you live.
Your rights under local law
Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of the country where you live. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Any dispute about these terms or Riptap is handled under the applicable law. If you have a problem, please contact us first so we can try to solve it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the app changes. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. If you keep using Riptap after an update, the updated terms apply.
